About Us

The DML Montessori School is a non-stock, non-profit institution owned and managed by the Daughters of St. Mary of Leuca. It is accredited by Government Recognition, and an active member of CEAP ( Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines ).

History

The DML Montessori School started in June 1970 when it was founded by Mother Elisa Martinez and Mother Marta Guglielmi, the first school superior. With only 30 children to begin with, the enrollment grew just by word of mouth from inspired parents. Today there are more than 200 pupils.

Philosophy

Total development of Children through Systematic Montessori Education Philippine Style.

To lead the little children to God, which is deeply rooted in the Gospel when Jesus made this appeal: "Let the little children come to me and hinder them not for the Kingdom of heaven belong to such as these." Matt. 19:13-14.

The Marian spirituality of the DML Montessori School encourages and inspires us to love and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in a very special way as the Mother of God and the Mother of all.

Vision Statement

To be partners with parents in the development and formation of the children in order to become good Christians and upright citizens of the country.

Mission Statement

To lead the little children to God through the development of the various aspects of their personalities such as spiritual, moral, social, emotional, mental, physical, and other phases of the formative years.

Goal

The child shall be given adequate care, assistance, and guidance through his various levels of growth from infancy to early and later childhood.

Objective

Every pupil in DML Montessori School shall enjoy the love and special protection. Each shall be given the opportunity for quality standard of education with the aid of modern facilities and tools for learning.

Core Values

The school is a haven of love and care where the children can respond to God in faith. They are enabled to live a healthy and harmonious life befitting human dignity by fostering a strong sense of nationalism, social responsibility and efficacy.

Accomplishments

• Presidential Recognition of Merit in 1980 for the total development of children through systematic Montessori Education Philippine style, during the National Conference for the Development of Children and Youth as part of the celebration of the 4th Decade of the Filipino Child.

• Appreciation Award for 25 years of invaluable service to Catholic Education, from the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) in 1995.

• The Cleanest and Most Orderly School and Surrounding given by Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon, Pamahalaang Lokal ng Lungsod ng Quezon

• Former pupils are now successful professionals and they excel in their academe performances. Some of them are already parents, and now, have enrolled their children in the school.

• The DML Montessori School is confidently always sailing and attuned to the signs of times, rich in hope for the welfare of our children.
